Decided that I need to read a little bit more about China, since now is probably the time to do it (while I live here :o)).
This book is about four daughters of Chinese women, born in the US and with the conflicts and problems that arise from this. OK read, but (which is good for my goal, but not the way I normally like things ;o)) very short!
Review from amazon.co.uk:
A first novel which became a major US film. From the wealthy homes of pre-Revolutionary China to downtown San Francisco, this is the story of four mothers and their first-generation Chinese-American daughters; two generations of women struggling to come to terms with their cultural identity.
