Solo

By Jill Mansell
Being a true lover (at least I think so myself ;o)) of chick-lit, I was DELIGHTED when I discovered Jill Mansell a few years ago.. However, I must admit that some of her earlier stuff disappoints me – and “Solo” is one..
Much too transparent and filled with “hollow” persons, who always seem to be either filthy rich or have the most wonderful hair!!, this book didn’t live up to “normal”/later Jill Mansell standards :o/ Also, I can’t help but wonder why the cover has a girl with red hair on it, when the main character of the book is blond??! The text from the book’s cover:
When Tessa Duvall meets hotel owner Ross Monahan at a party, she has no delusions about what sort of man he is; his wicked reputation precedes him. She knows that he’s only after one thing, and just for that night, she’s happy to go with the flow.
But weeks later, as Tessa finds herself tucking into four banana sandwiches, she realises that she may have got a little more from the one-night stand than she bargained for.
Spirited and independent, Tessa is dertermined to go it alone, but Ross, unaccustomed to being rejected, has other plans…
